presentation
600 million people currently live in the so-called Iberian-Latin-American world, corresponding to approximately one tenth of the world’s population. The forestry’s resources play a relevant role in the economies of countries from both sides of the Atlantic. The Amazonian basin is the largest continuous forested area in the world. In a global economy it is of the utmost importance to take advantage of the synergies provided by a common cultural and linguistic matrix, in order to improve the influence of this region in the industry based on the forestry resources which include harvesting, the use of timber and timber-based products in the construction industry. The above is the main motivation for this event which is the first of what is expected to become a regular forum for the sharing of experiences and knowledge between the countries of this extended community.
